Jonathan Pain
With over 30 years of international investment experience, Jonathan has headed up teams in London, Bahrain and Australia. His previous roles include Executive Director and Chief Investment Strategist of HFA Asset Management, Chief Investment Officer of Rothschild Australia Asset Management, Head of Investments at Gulf International Bank in Bahrain and Chair of the International Asset Allocation Committee at Paribas Asset Management in London.
Jonathan has joint Honours Degrees in Economics and Politics from Keele University and a Masters Degree in Finance from Exeter University.
He writes the widely read investment newsletter 'The Pain Report' which provides an independent perspective of financial markets and the world economy. Jonathon is a regular public speaker worldwide, specialising in Global Markets, Asset Allocation and Portfolio Construction.
Felix Stephen
Felix has over 45 years experience in international banking, treasury, fixed income, foreign exchange and portfolio management. He has served on asset allocation, risk and investment strategy committees at funds institutions both here and overseas. He has authored numerous financial research papers and was a member of the market practices committee at the Central Bank of Ceylon.
In his previous role as Head of Investment Strategy and Research with Advance Asset Management, Felix designed asset allocation strategies across diversified portfolios, drove the consultation, analytical and research agenda along with the publication of regular research papers for Advance's retail and institutional clients. He's a well-known public speaker, makes regular TV appearances and has keynoted at conferences worldwide.
Nowadays, Felix devotes much of his time and resources to helping underprivileged people and is Chairman of Volunteers to Assist Children with Disabilities (VACD), a Sri Lankan charity.
Chris Carrodus
Chris brings over 18 years of experience in investment and wealth management, spanning investment strategy, business development, advisory and legal roles in both Australia and the UK. As Head of Asset Consulting and a Partner at Evidentia, Chris leads the Asset Consulting team, supporting partner firms with tailored investment solutions.
Chris began his career as a financial services M&A lawyer in Melbourne and London before transitioning to investment management with global fund manager, BlackRock. During his 12 years at BlackRock, Chris held a range of senior roles in London and Melbourne, including product development, multi-asset investment strategy, business development and Head of Alternatives Investment Strategy.
Before joining Evidentia, Chris served as Chief Investment Officer for a high-net-worth advisory business in Sydney. There, he designed and managed a suite of model portfolios and oversaw a bespoke portfolio of alternative investment funds.
Chris has extensive expertise in capital markets, with a focus on multi-asset portfolio construction, asset allocation and alternative investments. He has worked closely with advice businesses, family offices and foundations to develop and implement investment strategies, construct portfolios and oversee their ongoing management.
Chris is a CFA charter holder and has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University.
Jo Cornwell
Jo Cornwell is Head of Manager Research at Evidentia Group, bringing 19 years of experience in manager research, selection and portfolio construction. She has a strong background in evaluating and integrating ESG risks and opportunities into the investment process. Over her career, Jo has held senior roles in portfolio management and asset consulting.
Before joining Evidentia, Jo served as Portfolio Manager for Growth Assets at Aware Super, where she managed $70 billion in assets across Australian and Global Equities. Her responsibilities included manager research, selection, portfolio construction, implementation and performance oversight for Aware’s listed equity portfolios.
Prior to Aware Super, Jo was an Investment Professional at StatePlus, overseeing the investments underpinning their range of retirement products. She also worked as an Investment Consultant at Mercer, gaining experience in both the UK and Australian markets.
Jo’s extensive expertise in investment research and portfolio management, coupled with her ESG focus, positions her as a leader in delivering thoughtful and effective investment solutions.
Jo is qualified as a CFA Charterholder and holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Nottingham in the UK.
